MP-T SERIES WEDGES UNVEILED Grain Flow Forged precision combined with CNC Milled grooves Mizuno’s increasingly popular Grain Flow Forged wedge range has been updateded with the introduction of a new Teardrop design MP T-Series. Made with the same craftsmanship and precision that goes into Mizuno’s legendary irons, the MP-T Series wedges offer golfers the consistent, solid, soft feel of a Mizuno forging, minimal offset, and an innovative workshop C-grind sole for maximum versatility around the greens. The introduction of the new MP-T Series, along with the hugely successful MP-R Series, furthers Mizuno’s position in the wedge category by providing a complete line of forged wedges with several finishes, head shapes, sole designs, and a variety of loft and bounce configurations. The MP-T Series wedges utilize a workshop C-grind sole design with significant relief in the heel and toe areas for shot versatility, a rolled leading edge for minimal digging, a cambered mid-sole for consistent ball striking, and a beveled trailing edge for reduced turf drag. The result is maximum playability from any lie and unmatched versatility around the greens. As with all Mizuno wedges, the MP-T Series feature CNC Max Milled square grooves for precise ball control and optimum spin. Each MP-T Series wedge is Grain Flow Forgedä from 1025E PURE SELECT mild carbon steel for the solid, soft, consistent feel that only comes from Mizuno. The MP-T Series of wedges will be available in both a Black Nickel and a Chrome finish. “Any good player knows, nowhere is feel more important than in your wedge game,” said Andy Kikidas, European Product Manager. “Every golfer is looking for touch, feel, and consistency on their chip, pitch, and sand shots which is why a forged wedge is far superior than a cast model. Combined with the CNC Milled grooves that are cut after the forging process the MP T-Series offers the best of everything you could ask of a wedge.” The MP-T Series wedges are available in 47°, 51°,53°, 56°, 58° and 60°. The wedges also come in a variety bounce configurations. Standard shaft is the True Temper® Dynamic Gold R300, S300 and standard grip is the exclusive Mizuno/Golf Pride® M-21 58. Other shafts and grips as well as flat or upright lies are available through Mizuno’s Custom Fitting programme.

I have recently added a 53% mizuno MP-Tseries to my bag and it has been a positive addition. The stiff shaft I have opted for gives me more confidence to attack the ball on the fuller pitches and I have found less of the steep down swings that led to the heavy shots slipping in. The smooth lines of the club head also help give a comfortable address of the ball.
