WHEN GOLFING, YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT MORE THAN 50% OF ALL THE HITS YOUŽLL MAKE DURING A GAME WILL BE FOR LESS THAN A HUNDRED YARDS; MANY GOLFERS FEEL A STRANGE SATISFACTION FOR PRACTICING LONGER SHOTS WITH THE DRIVE, AND WASTE SERIOUS TIME AND EFFORTS IMPROVING A SHOT THEY WILL USE MUCH LESS THAN THE CLOSER SHOTS. SO, IŽVE LEARNED FROM MANY PROFESSIONALS THAT PRACTICING PUTT AND PITCHING APPROACHES DEFFINITIVELY BRINGS MORE RESULTS IN TERM OF SCORE REGISTERS. TRY IT, AND YOUŽLL SEE YOUR NUMBERS WILL SOON GO DOWN! BEST REGARDS.

Very true, I only wish my short game matched my long game. I would post much better scores but there is more satisfaction in the sweetly struck long iron into small target, only to 3 putt for par :-o

as they say 'drives are for show, putts are for dough'...

EXACTLY! SHORT SHOTS IMPROVE ALMOST IMMEDIATELY YOUR SCORE... LONG SHOTS PROVIDES GREAT SATISFACTION, BUT ALSO THE WORST HEADACHES... MOST OF THE PLAYERS LOSES LOTS OF HITS RECOVERING OF A BAD DRIVE SHOT: MY BEST RECOMMENDATION IS TO GAIN CONFIDENCE SLOWLY WITH THE DRIVE, BEGGINING WITH A MEDIUM OR 3/4 BACK SWING, ASSURING CONTROL AND WHEN THAT IS DONE, TRY TO INCREASE DISTANCE AND POWER... BEST REGARDS!

How many golfers win a tournament because they have the Perfect Golf Swing?

There's so much golf tuition focused on achieving the Perfect Golf Swing.

Why is that? When it's the Lowest Golf Score that wins the game, not the Best Golf Swing.

After countless golf lessons, many students enroll at our golf academy, and we identify immediately:

* These Golf students were encouraged to practice the wrong things
* Many golf teachers and golf coaches put too much focus on the mechanics of golf and not the RESULTS

At AHPGA We're Turning Average Golf Players into Winning Golfers

absolutely agree. it's all about the chip and putts - can change a game dramatically even though (atleast i) get so much more satisfaction hitting a really long drive vs. good chip!

have to add, one really good way to increase your score is to know how far you hit with your clubs on average (esp the shorter irons)! there is nothing more frustrating than landing short of the green and realising you should have used a longer club. and that ofcourse means heading to the driving range!!
