The two courses at Ferndown GC mean that it is very difficult to trump for the title of best course in Dorset. The Old Course is a real classic and hosts regional Open qualifying. This is a little longer than the Presidents course but both provide a real challenge. The conditions of these courses are exceptional, with the fairways real heath lands treat.



The only negative though I have regarding Ferndown was following a ver hot summers day several years ago. I arrived with my Weymouth Junior Golf team to play against our hosts and we were informed that if we were intending to wear our shorts we would need to don knee length socks. A preposterous rule in this golfers book. We did win that day, and saw members of the Tottenham team on the way out, including Paul Stewart, looking for a game.



Dress code aside this is a tremendous club with 2 great course and definitely worth a round, but be warned, one will not be enough.
